Alice Roi's brand relaunching
during the Spring 2013 season has been followed-up by the American
designer's glamorous '70s-inspired Resort 2013 collection—proving she's
here to stay. The former ELLE employee, and onetime CFDA Perry Ellis Womenswear Award nominee, originally took a five-year fashion hiatus
to focus on motherhood. Her resurrected brand now boasts flared pants,
bold silhouettes and fur shawls—all reminiscent of an era when Roi said,
"women dressed with confidence and imagination."
With this new collection, Roi wanted "to keep that ['70s] personality and flair," but updated the look with a feminine-meets-modern twist and just the right amount of downtown cool. The result is a throwback treat. With no plans of stopping now, she's already working on a fall/winter collection.
Alice Roi's resort collection will be available at Louis Boston at a price point between $468 (blouse) and $960 (maxi dress).
