Frank Ocean is canceling
his sold out Australian tour after only one show because of a tear on his vocal
cords.
Live Nation posted on its
Facebook page early Friday that the Grammy winner was ordered by doctors to
rest his voice after performing in Melbourne's Festival Hall on Thursday night.
The 25-year old's
representative confirmed the painful injury and cancellation of the tour's three
remaining shows.
Because of his busy
calendar Live Nation said the R&B singer would not be able to reschedule
the Australian dates but all of the tickets will be refunded.
The 6ft singer was
set to perform Friday at Festival Hall and in Sydney's Hordern Pavillion on
Monday and Tuesday.
Ocean won two Grammy
Awards this year, including Best Urban Contemporary Album for Channel ORANGE.
Chris Brown, 23, refused
to join in a standing ovation as Ocean took the stage to receive that award
that night.
The openly gay rapper also
shared another gong for Best Rap/Song Collaboration award for No Church in the
Wild with Kanye West and Jay-Z, taken from their album Watch the Throne.
